Little things you expect and never think about such as mail delivery, security, housekeeping, and true professional management became a concern. It was never so clear how great a job the Bissell Companies at Ballantyne Corporate Park perform. “We moved into our first Ballantyne office in August of 2004. We had a great experience in our first office. The price and terms of the lease were competitive. The construction upfit was well done and we moved in two weeks earlier than promised. Our business continued to expand and we needed a larger space, which you provided in another Ballantyne building. Our move into the larger space could not have gone smoother. The construction was of the highest quality, we moved on time and the disruption to our business was minimal.
Now that we are opening other offices throughout North Carolina, we can see the stark contrast between working with the Bissell Companies and other landlords. It has taken twice as long to negotiate the leases, the people are difficult to deal with and our business has been disrupted. One example of this is the number of pages in the lease document. The Bissell Companies lease was about twenty pages in length. The lease number of pages in the lease documents for the other landlords is fifty-two pages, for less than half the square footage.
Thanks for your help over the last couple of years. We only wish you had office buildings throughout the state.”
